KEYS STUDENTS CONNECT WITH HEAD START
KEYS, Kosciusko Endowment Youth Services is made up of 20 students, five students from each of the county public schools (Tippecanoe Valley, Warsaw, and Wawasee) and one private school (Lakeland Christian Academy), an 8th grader through 12th grader from each school corporation. Once a student joins KEYS in 8th grade, they make a five year commitment to stay in KEYS.
In recent weeks, KEYS students worked together to raise money with the goal of buying toys for Cardinal's Head Start classrooms in Warsaw, Mentone and North Webster.
The students raised more than $800, enough to purchase several toys, balls, and hats and gloves for each classroom, benfitting 178 kids.
This week, the students from the 4 clubs delivered the wrapped gifts to each classroom. They watched as the kids opened each one with great excitement, and then the best part, as they joined the kids on the floor for play time!
Our thanks to each KEYS student for opening your heart and sharing with Head Start kids - we see in you what we hope for each of them.
